Honda Gathers Radio Code Unlock

The radio unlock code (also called the “anti-theft code”) is a 5-digit factory code stored for every Honda Gathers / Panasonic head unit. If the radio loses power — after a battery change, for example — it locks and displays “CODE” on the screen. Entering the factory code reactivates it.

Unfortunately, for this device group (JVCKENWOOD or Clarion) there is no quick way to find the security code. For these models we need to send a request to the audio system manufacturer in Japan, and the response usually takes 2–10 business days. To submit the request, we need a photo of the sticker on the top of the device and the car chassis number. You will need to remove the radio from the dashboard to photograph the sticker, which is located on the top of the unit.

For models Gathers VXM-XX5 and VXM-XX7 (Panasonic, Mitsubishi), we send the security code within 2 minutes of receiving payment. For models Gathers VXM-XX2 and XX4 (JVCKENWOOD, Clarion), the fastest response after submitting a request is 2–10 business days.

Enter the code by pressing the radio station selection keys with the corresponding numbers. For example, if we send code 64131, make short key presses on keys 6, 4, 1, 3, and then 1 again.

Your audio system is temporarily blocked from accepting a code. Turn the ignition to the “ON” position, then avoid touching any buttons on the radio or touchscreen for about 15–20 minutes. After that, try entering the security code again.

The radio unlock code we provide is permanent.
